Today was a lot of fun, we went to a dance by the Special Populations which is shortened to be called POPS of Special POPS. We know many of the folks although many more we do not know. This group is older because special pops focuses on the older population... High school and beyond. We are getting closer and closer so while I have some sort of influence over my children I want to be able to attend and after we can talk about situations, I can guide them in making the right choices.
Such as;
The photo of Jordan is a tummy ache.. he is sitting out not dancing because his tummy hurt. They had a vending machine which he delivered himself three Pepsi's and 2 bags of chips while dancing. His tummy hurt for good reason.
Kaitlyn did not hydrate with water and crashed, The dance started at noon, they had a break at 1:30 to pass out drinks (punch) for most, diet for others and cookies which they also had no sugar cookies. The music went soft and everyone had a rest period. Some photos taken with about 3/4 of the group willing to have their picture taken.
One of the older boys went outside for a smoke of his vanilla flavored black cigar?? But then asked me if I knew if the girl inside with the short hair brought protection with her??? I advised him to ask her Mother when she came to pick her up.... OK, SERVICE DOG comes to mind here.... Something like KILLER MIKE DOG, or CHOKE HIM CHARLIE....... I need to figure this out cause our Ali would lick him to death if I was lucky.... BUT for now this is why I will attend, like it or not.
Kailtyn danced a couple after the snack and she was very cute... When we arrived everyone was movin and a groovin... but it was clear this was their dance and I needed to go over by the parents "area" and SIT DOWN... Steven would not dance with me, Jordan focused on the vending machines and Kaitlyn was social to me but would move to the other side of the dance floor to avoid me dancing. In the end she made it clear as a bell... OH MY GOSH MOM WOULD YOU JUST GO SIT DOWN!!! I did not argue and took my seat. She is almost 16!
Jordan at one time went out to the front lobby of the hall and sat on this nice little conversation table set like a formal dining corner...He asked me to sit down, he pretended to offer me a drink and role played serving me a nice meal. THEN he asked me if we could take the center piece, it was a nice planter with a live plant in it. I said No, he said it is pretty for Aurie..(Lily) He wants to take it to school and give it to her... I reminded him of the pink pencil top erasers he has to give her and her pink folder... she will love that, and he can take a blueberry muffin they can share for snack???? Wonder if they have snack in 3rd grade??
The kids were wore out, Kaitlyn fell asleep in the van on the way home. Jordan and Steven rode to walmart to get wrapping paper and a **** gift and then to ROSS for another gift... for tomorrows party. Wrapping and giving is a whole nother process of learning for the boys... Both gifts they would love to keep..
Tomorrow we have therapy and then off to a Birthday party which is set to be the key party... KEY WEST THEME... lots of photos tomorrow.

One day my Prince will come, is that the song..
I spent the night last night or the night before opening and updating some singles sites I have been on in the past. I am not sure what to think when I open one that says I have been a member since 2003 and that 16,879 men looking for their one and only have read my profile and they did not seek to communicate a date with me... well that is not entirely true... I have an entire folder full of old communications back in the day I had time to communicate on line with single men to find out who they are before meeting in person. In 8 years I have met four face to face. I am amazed that many are not willing to allow a background check for abuse before you meet, before I expose a man to my children I think it only a Mothers wise choice to run a police check on him if not a full fledged child screening.. I guess stating that right up front is a bit brass.... but I am not the Crystal these days so brass it is.
Then they say my membership needs reinstated, $$$$. I thought the guarantee was if I didn't find someone in 6 months it was free.... well I am assuming paying for years and nothing came of it I should have lifetime status. My goodness I am about to be 50 have not found love in almost 50 years --come on I am all grown up and out of denial, I was in lust... I was 17 hormones raging and it was lust people... and the fact I was able to write my own excises to miss school (HIGH SCHOOL) What can be more appealing than that to get married and start a family...... Daaa oh yeah, in 1997 I fell into the bliss of Mother Mary sainthood and was quickly reminded my powers were pretty much in my mind. SO please! LOVE , no I have not been in a mature adult relationship that could in any way shape or form be described as a loving relationship with a man. SO that is one check minus in the game of life...
Now, it asks what is the longest relationship I have maintained... Gosh, there is no lines to what have you been up to for the past 33 years. My parents didn't allow me to date until I got married... that is where the 33 came from.
So I have been Internet dating for a few years now. You do realize that this is really not dating right... typing on a keyboard, talking on the phone after the kids are in bed and meeting secretly for a cup of coffee.... that is not dating.
So I think if I were to type out all the funny experiences I have encountered some of you would be rolling on the floor. Can you imagine, a man stopping for a bottle of wine to come to have dinner with his believed dream date, I met for lunch, we talked on the phone, he passed the police and child abuse checks..he was needy-that is right up my alley (lol)..... WINE, and 7 kids around the table scarfing down spaghetti. I think that man was actually on our date a total of 3 minutes 18 seconds. The minute he heard I did not have a cork opener he split to buy one, I never heard from him again.
Another, well it was the closest I came to dating. He flew down, we met, he said he fell in love and if only I would take out a home equity loan to lend him a large amount of money he might come back, Internet dating brings out the talents in financial planning... LOL no I did not.
Let me see, oh there was this one, he seemed very nice, clean cut, said all the right things until he informed me he was on probation for child crimes and his parole would not allow him to be within 100 yards of a child...... BA, BYE!
So I ask myself why did I unlock my Internet dating sites? We will see, I have one contact to respond to.... He is an old looking and I know looks can be deceiving 50 year old... I changed my header to "50 is the new 40"... do you think men will get that? I need someone to keep up... act 35 and relax to the age of 40.
OK, I believe single is my plan for now....single 99.9% of the time is just fine.. I am stuck this week on that 1%.

One more week of summer break
It has just hit me I only have one more week of the children being home before school starts....
The letters have come in and I am in need of some open house dates.
Lucas will be going to a K-2 room so we can focus on self help skills this year. Potty training is priority then feeding himself. The two are really equal although I will be thrilled to not change diapers from him... PRIORITY ONE.
Lucas will start Kindergarten next year officially included in the general education Kindergarten classroom. I believe full inclusion is the only route for our children with Down syndrome to exceed to their highest potential in life. My opinion from talking to parents of children who are breaking records for Independence in America having Down syndrome.
Tressa and Jordan are in the school we have been attending for years, their bus came by to introduce the driver and assistance yesterday. I discussed the way I choose them to pull up for easy and non resistance loading in the mornings at 6:50AM YIKES. Both Jordan and Tressa attend school in general education classrooms with push in and pull out services. Most of their ESE services are delivered in the general education classroom. The kids both have paraprofessionals to assist the general education teacher in providing all the IEP goal initiatives to meet their annual goals. Tressa will be in the same grade (2nd) with the same teacher with the entire team excited about this coming year being her best ever.. Jordan knows his new 3rd grade teacher although she has never taught him before she is not new to the school. She also knows Jordan. Jordan' and Tressa's paras have been in contact over the summer to keep on top of their personal needs. Jordan is looking forward to getting back to school to see Lily, his aurie. He has pulled out pink toppers for her pencils, a pink folder and saying these are for Lily. He is so cute about her. Tressa has her new lunch box and has been discussing what the first day of school is going to be like...her social calendar...planning. I am excited for her to get back in her routine.. it is all good, I love the school, love the staff and am excited to have a new year begin.
Kaitlyn and Steven have a new Principle which i just learned about...this could change everything............... I plan to be at their school this coming week to see if I can set time to talk to the new person in charge. If you do not know the Principle is the one person who can make or break a child in ESE's education. It is said that ESE has their IEP team which drives the educational success although anyone with any experience will back me in that a Principle who is not supportive train wrecks it all... I have no desire to lay new track...I am all about finding team players and hope this is an experienced pilot of this ride....so this is all up in the air... I pray I am not moving kids the first weeks of school.
Keirsten with as much resistance as I have ever experienced is back at her same High School, not that she wants to be there but because I need her there. She very much wants to go to the High School my older kids attended although it is the school a couple not so desirable boys go to... not a reason in my opinion to change schools. I am doing some research on local High Schools once they get into session and moving is a possibility but it will be for education reasons and not where the local boy friend is attending. I see this as a huge job coming my way...
Emma, sweet well.... that is getting debatable... You have NO IDEA how manipulating this little girl is being about therapy. I am SHOCKED.... she screams like Ms Jan is making her stand on hot coals and hurting her to "stand" now she stands all day when Ms Jan is not here... although when Ms Jan starts working "therapy" she screams, although stopped instantly if I pick her up. It is now happening in her OT, Speech and daily skills therapy.... Any undesired task she screams to the point she passes out of exhaustion.. Guys she is only 17 months old. Look out Lee County School for this up and coming red head student...
So that is the plan, we have a day of play planned next week to Tampa in BUSH GARDENS, the vote is to take no baby's. This weekend we have their back to school dance and then Sunday their friend's Birthday Bash which is going to be HUGE FUN. I will take lots of pictures of all their activities. I have only a little school supply list to complete, not much of school clothing shopping this year. A few things here and there... new shoes left to get and we are ready.

I can only hold it in so long and then I need to vent.... I miss having a partner, even a person regularly dating at times like this... Someone who would listen and know how to help by just letting me sit in the dark for 20 minutes to recoup.... Yes, I am raising a teenage girl with ADHD and it can... well it is exhausting at times.
This last week has been full of emotional highs and lows which also plays a role in how I can take on more than many. I feel like when everything hits, it hits... meaning I am gearing up to the busiest months of the year, the way I like life and then I have an emotional trigger, then I fall into the pity party some moments on why I am single in this life journey.... then I answer that.... and move forward. You see I realize how much work relationships are and for me because I select the wrong person it has been two times too much work /one sided/ so I am reluctant to put myself out there.. Not sure where this is going???? this is what came to mind driving back from getting supplies just now. How much nicer it would be if I wasn't single... maybe because my good friend pointed out last night that it has been several years since I dated... THANKS FOR POINTING THAT OUT.... maybe that is what is seeping into my mind, maybe it is because I just need some one to get away with, someone to touch me, look at me, pay attention to me. I have not been putting myself out there to even have an opportunity to meet anyone so this is a real self pity party... OK, enough.
Keirsten is my teenager with ADHD in the worst way. She has the gene pool of self destruction to boot and is a teenager so nothing I say makes any sense because I know nothing any way. It came to my shutting down her myspace, facebook and taking control of her email last night and this morning. She gave me the passwords with reluctance and then said she was calling the police to report me for hacking into her accounts??? I explained it was called supervising and what I found was not in my opinion healthy for her so I took control and we will discuss in her weekly therapy session Tuesday. If they tell me it is harmless to bash yourself and set yourself up for ongoing drama then I will release but I will be hard pressed to believe that. For her privacy I will only say it really is not OK what she is doing to herself. She is responding today like any teenager would so the pressure is on... and I really am not liking it... but am dealing with it.
Kaitlyn, she is sewing more of her bag today in therapy, it is looking very nice, her patchwork squares are even and her sewing is clean and neat. She told me she has a hole in her lip, this means her braces are loose again. Not sure what she is doing, this is occurring a lot lately. I have to schedule her oral surgery to expand her jaw. I have consulted with three dentists now and feel confident the right decision is to move forward with the expansion for long term effects. This will put her out of some school and she is looking forward to getting back to school.
Steven is.... well Steve,,,, I tell you this is part of my frustration. I tell him to get the pitcher to make OJ and he hands me the griddle... ???... I ask him if I can mix orange juice in it and he looks at me with this blank stare.. Then I say it slower and he then freezes and looks totally lost... error less teaching kicks in and I get the pitcher and we mix the OJ together as I say what we are doing as we do it. He often does this with me... like I am not sure he is in the here and now with me... It is hard to figure if it is avoidance behavior or really he is not hearing what I am saying or simple lost in the thought of something else he is thinking about... He is 13 so hormones can be making lord only knows where that mind is traveling to ... Again I think he is ready for the routine of school.
Jordan I know is focused on getting back to school, he saw his para professionals picture in photos on the lap top last night and he couldn't get enough of it. My Nelson, I love her. I want Nelson, on and on and then the question was ...school tomorrow? so he will be ready, maybe packing book bags this week would help..
Tressa has struggled this summer, she has made many bad choices, she refuses to clean up her own messes. she carries on so much I am ready for her to get back into the school routine and actually she does well in the school routine. I have worked all summer to get her PCA in place and boy it has been a chore of paperwork to get something that was ordered by her Doctor 1 1/2 years ago... should be a crime. It was actually 40 lbs ago, she was 70 lbs when the Dr. wrote the order and now 110... something we all knew would happen if things didn't get into place.... INSURANCE COMPANIES THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING... Urg!
Lucas is doing well, he is a noisy running machine... much different than the boy who didn't want to walk, sat and didn't vocalize anything.... I am getting great feedback about his new teacher. I pray this all works out for him this year...Our #1focus is potty training, we are using time training and his teacher is all about this... THANK GOODNESS.
Emma, oh Emma Princess you are not being good......LOL She screamed through therapy again today.... Ms. Jan kept the therapy going so she does not feel she can manipulate adults trying to teach her... she is strong willed. Ms Jan was showing me that when Ms Emma wants to cuddle which I so enjoy is actually her getting out of doing work. She molds her body into mine and she does not have to work any muscles. Ms Jan was saying how parents fall into this as they enjoy their "baby's longer" but reality is we are not doing our children well by them avoiding using their muscles... Amazing how they can manipulate us smart adults when they are Dev. delayed and 1 1/2 years old.... LOL
I have been in my room surfing the web typing, checking face book, playing in the dark for almost an hour.... it has been all good....
I FEEL BETTER! thanks for sharing time with me...

What is going on in our home................
I am trying to balance life right now.
We had a exciting but HUGE event happen in our family last weekend, it set things off balance for a bit while we process what is happening.
You all know that my children have all come to me through adoption. Very open adoptions. I know pretty much everything about everyone in the lives of my children.. When Kaitlyn came to me she had a Father listed on her Birth Cert. I knew it was not the actual Father but the man in her mothers life at that time, I was told the actual Father was unknown. Kaitlyn had never known her Birth Father nor had he known anything about her Until last Friday, a week ago today. He contacted me and i took a couple days to process what this was going to do to our family although in communicating I was learning this man was WONDERFUL and heart led to learn more about Kaitlyn only to learn more about Kaitlyn, it has been all positive on both sides. We have kept it private and plan to keep it private until all the children have their time to process. Kaitlyn will remain in our family as it is in her best interest, she has extended her family and more people to love her. Actually WE have extended our family and we all have more people to call family ... Again, we need to keep names etc private and allow the children their time. Trust that I am looking out for Kaitlyn as is her Father.
I have been collecting old photos, emailing memories as I recall them from sorting old photos to fill in the past almost 16 years of Kaitlyn's life. That has been my writing time, along with running the household during a crazy week...keep up with facebook as I can get a sentence in there more frequently.
We had a exciting but HUGE event happen in our family last weekend, it set things off balance for a bit while we process what is happening.

What Kaitlyn taught peers (re-post)
This booklet was provided to myself the end of the school year. I made the choice to hold my daughter back because she had such a wonderful academic growth year with the combination of teacher/aide/parent and students. The teacher embraced my plan to keep Kaitlyn totally included even though many thought fourth graders were at an age that Kaitlyn may not be accepted as she had in the past and the year could be miserable for all..... please read what her peers wrote ....
What we learned from Kaitlyn Pringle
With love,
Mrs. Stamps Fourth Grade Class 2005-2006
Katie has helped me learn that people with Down syndrome are just as cool as me. I did not think she was a capable as me but she is pretty cool. She has taught me do not judge a book by it’s cover. That’s because in the inside she is actually really cool.
By Richard H.
Dear Kaitlyn,
I learned people with Down syndrome aren’t different. Their abilities don’t work like everyone. But that doesn’t mean they can’t learn or become a normal person. When she likes something she gets happy and laughs.
By Gregorio
Dear Katie,
You have improved over the year. I think that Katie is very intelligent for a girl who has Down Syndrome. I have taught her not to take someone’s food even if he offers her his or her food. I learned from Katie how girls with Down syndrome act/ I hope that Katie does really good next year.
By: Casey
Katie helped me by learning that even though she looks different on the outside she is still a regular person on the inside. But at first I did not really like her but now that it’s almost the end of 4th grade she is really not different. She was just trying to learn from what we did but sometimes she copied us when we did something bad.

I learned many things from Katie P. I have also taught her stuff. I helped by getting her to her bus on time, I also helped by reading with her in reading class. I taught her not to throw food in the cafeteria.
First, I helped Katie get her bus on time, She rides 989 she almost always rides the bus. She always asks me if I can take her to her bus.
Second, I helped her by reading with her in reading, We did a skit and she read with us. She didn’t read the real story She just said words.
Third, I taught her not to throw food in the cafeteria. She threw food a;; the time. We told Mrs. Rowe. She stopped.
I think being in Katie’s class helped me get to know her better.

Kaitlyn taught me that there are millions and billions of people on the earth. We are all the same. You should not single people out and say that they are different. We are all just people
By: Matthew S.
I’ve learned from Katie so many things but I think the most important thing is patience., I have learned that it takes patience to teach Katie something and ever since I met her I have done half the yelling at my younger sister. With my sister it takes so much patience to teach her something new. I am really happy I have met Katie.
By: Amber
I learned from Katie that people with Down syndrome are not different. At the beginning of the year I thought she was not a cool person. But now I think differently Just because she is different, nobody needs to treat her differently. She is just a human being like us.
By; Pascual
Katie helped me understand that people with Down Syndrome are like us in their own way.
By: Ellis
Dear Katie,
I want to tell you about all I learned from you. At the first day of school I thought I was cool and I used to say “Get away from me”. But now I understand that you are a normal person like me. I certainly hope you learned something from me because I learned a lot of stuff from you.

By: Cristian
Katie has taught me by making me realized that no matter how different she is she is still a very nice person. I think Mrs. P (her mom) was very thoughtful to let Katie be in around regular kids. Even though Katie is different she is still a human being so you have to be kind and treat her with respect. One time I helped her by finding her bus on the chalkboard. (She even thanked me once)
By:Blasia
I learned from Katie that people with Down syndrome are not different from us. Katie is a good friend. She likes to hug people. She likes to be with her friends. I also learned from Katie to be patient with my friends and family. And to not yell at my brothers
By: Desiree S
Dear Katie,
You have learned something and we did too. You taught me not to move from seat to seat. I also helped you with lots of things, like finding a book. I also helped with your stuff at the end of the day.

Dear Katie,
You are a great girl. Please stay the same forever. Remember when Julia and I helped you walk faster and go faster in the bathroom? You are like us but slower. No matter what, I’m your friend.

Dear Katie,
We had good times. We had a good time in Kindergarten. You are a really good friend to me. We taught you how to be good, and you listened. I hope we have a good time on the last day of school. I learned from Katie that she has the same ability as me.

Dear Kaitlyn,
Thank you for teaching me to be nice to people. You made me realize over the 4 years that you are sweet. You are kind and I’m going to miss you. See you around.

Katie taught me she may be different but she is the same as us. Like sometimes, she walks slowly and leaves a gap in line. Sometimes she takes too much home. And sometimes she runs in the hallway. And every once in awhile she copies me.
Katie taught me she was the same as every one else but it just takes a while for her to learn. Like once she was doing the same thing as us it took her awhile for her to learn it.
Katie taught me not to treat people with Down syndrome any differently. Like at the beginning of the year I stayed far away from Katie. But now I know her better so I am fine and she is great. She is not different at all.
By: Elijah B
Katie has taught me things over the course of the year. She has taught me patience. She has taught me she is different. She has taught me she isn’t something to be afraid of. She has taught me she is slower at some things than others. But she is still special
By: Kevin A.
Dear Katie,
You are the greatest friend. You have learned a lot of stuff when you came to the class. Do you remember when I took you to the bus? And I helped you catch up in line. All the enjoyable things I do for you are because you are the finest friend. The first day I saw you, I thought you were different than us. Now I know that you are just like us.
By: Tania
At the beginning of the year. I didn’t like Katie because she looked different. But then I found out that she has DOWN SYNDROME. It’s when your brain forms differently than normal kids’ brain. It is hard to understand her, so you have to listen carefully.
What I learned from Katie is that kids with DOWN SYNDROME have it hard. So you have to make sure you are nice to kids with DOWN SYNDROME. But it is nice having her in the class.
By; Brooke P.
Kaitlyn taught me how people with Down syndrome are like regular people. But she needs help but to remember not to ignore her. She is a nice person and she might give you a hug in line. She might even slow down the line a little bit, but that’s OK because that’s her thing, So not push her she is like us.

Dear Katie and Mrs. P (her mom)
The thing I learned from Katie is even though she has Down syndrome she is like everyone else. She can do what she can do it just takes longer for her to learn these things. There’s other things that I didn’t understand like why she looks so different? Anther thing is, why is she happy and smiling all the time? But I understand not that this is the way she is and that I have to accept and get to know her.
There’s another thing that she taught me and everyone else is that we have to be patient with her. And that what we do she is going to do and we have to show her good examples. What if we started acting mean to people and disrespectful in front of her? She is going to do it too and then we have to teach her all over again about these things and set better examples. If we don’t she is going to do it when she is older and if we baby her she is not going to learn how not to do things.
Katie taught us a lot and she taught me that just because she looks different doesn’t mean she is that different. Everyone is different and looks different in a lot of ways.
So I wanted to say thank you Mrs. P for bringing Katie to our class. I had a great time with her and matured a lot because of her. I love Katie, She’s so sweet. I wish she could be in my class next year.
Thank you Mrs. P and you Katie

Katie has Down syndrome. But she has taught us a lot. The thing O learned is that people with Down syndrome aren’t that bad, but of course she has times when there’s a gap in the line or times when she hugs. In the beginning she did every single day. Now it slowed down. I will miss Katie but she is in a good place.

Dear Mrs. Stamp and her Honorable fourth grade class of 2005-2006,
I want to tell you all how much I appreciate your insight in the book you put together for Katie and I to cherish forever. I read it with tears of joy when she first came home and again as I read it to her grandparents and family friends.
I would like you all to know what this has taught me.
Your acceptance of Kaitlyn makes my dreams for her within reach, my goals for Kaitlyn reasonable and the expectations of her real.
I could have never asked for a more perfect group of mature students for Kaitlyn to spend her fourth grade year with. She too learned more from all of you, more than you will know.
Thank you and know you are all welcome to call Kaitlyn just to say Hi and remind her of all the things you shared in 2005-2006 at Skyline in Mrs. Stamp’s Fourth Grade Class.
With all my love,

ONLY IN THE MOVIES.....
Why is it the end of so many movies always turn out "HAPPY" Girl meets boy= DRAMA then all gets worked through and they kiss and make up = MOVIES.... LOL
Why can't it just be "NORMAL" I guess that would seem boring... not to me. In working to write a book I have learned very few books are even written today non fiction. I am amazed because I learn something from all the people I meet. I find human behavior REAL LIFE very interesting and so much for us to learn from.
So back to blogging... Not really sure where I left off, the past few days have been productive in getting to project that have been set aside for our travels. Conference summer 2010 it has been... I did get the bathroom sinks unclogged. GROUSE! I need I need hair traps for sure. and teach the kids the bathroom drain is not a penny bank... actually other then the cantence it was very simple to undo the U pip and reconnect after cleaning it all the yuck of flusing the drain clean.. CHECK that is done. Van battery is changed, extra wiring my son added has been removed :0( why oh why... well better that than something engine related. I have a few other items on the van that I am not capable of fixing so that is going in later, mower is in for a tune up and being returned to friends as this very nice man is mowing my lawns every Wed from here on out THANK YOU! That will be a real blessing and his Dad is coming to see if he can re-connect my sprinkler system if I go buy a new control box...again, my son decided the box needed moved after the initial install and since then it hasn't worked... :o( but better it is getting fixed and moving forward... I believe we are all well enough to have the air conditioning guy come to see if he can fix that, it is bloody hot in my house and the ceiling is now falling from being so wet so long... :o( I am sure some conversation about my duct work will come up.... Yep, that wonderful son of mine use to "run away" up to the attic which was hot so he used his pocket knife to cut holes in the duct so he could get some cool air... yep there is a positive, that son no longer lives in Florida.... :0) so we are making strides....

I am so ready for the heat to be gone....
I do not even care if it rains every afternoon if only the heat would BACK OFF for a bit... really not the heat as much as the humidity. I have not been in the pool much this summer here at home and it wares on me to be in the house too long but going out to play is brutal... and I have three kids who just HATE heat... Tressa can not regulate her own body temp so she is a health risk at times in the heat, Lucas being from Hungary still has no preference for play out in the heat and baby Emma who some how has come to believe she is a golden princess and nothing uncomfortable should pass present her in any given day... she is getting to be a real pill... She is trying hard to scream and fall out crying to stop therapy... but when I pick her up she stops instantly... so I sit her on my lap and she twists and turns and snuggles to fight doing any non preferred task... SORRY EMMA there was one or two before you..... We got your number girlfriend.
I am under the weather a bit today, coming back but forgot to eat yesterday, then went out and had a small slice of flatbread and forgot to eat today until I drank two large glasses of tea and had cramps in the worst way. Having surgery years ago I do not ever feel hungry, I have to bring myself to eat or I can go days and only drink. I usually feel weak or light headed then it hits me, when did you last eat something. If I forget to eat protein for days my hair will start to fall out...major sign I need to focus back on myself. That is usually only during high stress tomes and avoiding those is another focus of mine..
I have put in many many hours to the awareness walk the past few days and the responce is fantastic. Thank you all.
We have a new baby in Haiti in need of heart repair to live and again I am faced with 2010 where the medical profession does not feel they should grant a charity Heart surgery to a child with down syndorme dur to the QUALITY OF LIFE>.... It just send me to places of darkness to know this is the view of people today. Especially people who make hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars from repairing baby's with Down syndrome all year being paid full rates... I am sickened once again... I must find a way to break through this mental image for charity heart surgery. A human is a human is a human... if they can live from a surgery my GOD is the only God and he assures me it is INCLUSION in his image of quality of life.
My van is on the road again, it had something to do with wiring. I am feeling good about that, next is the air conditioner so I do not have to have water running on my head from the ceiling... GROUSE!
I found a large black snake in my garage, Mandie saw a second one, they must have been calling this home for some time because they are HUGE for black racers, I am thankful they are eating the rats because we have not had a rat issue during these rains and usually rats come out of the canal areas up on the wires and into attacks where they cause all kinds of trouble...
I will post more pics soon, Activity time in our house, I need to supervise.

Today was a busy family day. We got off to a rocky start with the teen and texting... URG .... It is obvious when she can not wake up in the morning she has been up all night. I made her write an essay on how she can make changes to have a more healthy lifestyle. Her first one went something like this... If I wake up on time I get to go to my friends from noon until 9:30 pm each day...............LOL That page went to the recycle bin. NEXT! We got much closer to what I wanted to see so we are going to elaborate on it tomorrow and put it into a contract.. I am struggling with the amount of texting teens do, but a survey on facebook makes my situation more normal than not. Now it is getting balance. Teens need jobs and in this economy it is tough. It really isn't about money as much as time management, personal growth in all areas.. It is a shame the jobs the teens were getting are holding families together as main household income.
Once our day got underway we did picture games, the kids look at a picture and make up a story about the picture. I do not have to tell you who had the most exaggerated story to tell with all the drama emotions as if she really lived it. Yes, Tressa is the winner for story telling. We must have sang ABC's 50 times today. EMMA yes, Emma --come on you didn't think i was going to say sang it with us...I am good but I am not that good...LOL She did dance and hummm mimicking us so she was absorbing the song. She is saying approximations of words each day although if I was not experienced in it one would miss what she is doing because it is slight and not consistent. Therapy started a little later and lasted later into the night.

Therapy day..SEWING!!! yes they are sewing on a sewing machine
Today is our therapy day for all the children. We have so much going on, our friends from Orlando are in a rental home out on Sanibel for us to bop out and have beach time for the next two weeks or so... Yippeee, Tressa loves Chloe and their time together is precious. Bella is planning to join in on the weeks of fun as well, wonderful girl time... the others plan to join and locate shells the tide has brought in, big waves with Bonnie stirring up the gulf's base will land many treasures on the waters edge for treasure hunts. Sanibel has a museum of shells which offers education on the life of a shell with names of each shell how they eat and grow.. then we take those educational worksheet out to the waters edge and match what we learned to what we find. VERY FUN! not expensive either, entry is like $7.00 adult and $4.00 for kids. The video alone is worth the trip, thing you just never knew.. The kids love the little shops on Sanibel which have so many craft ideas to bring home and make. We love arts and craft times.
Today they all have most of their squares cut out (by hand), they will lay out their pattern to hand sew their appliques to the front square of their projects. Jordan has a car, Tressa a big red heart, Steven is doing a baseball cap and Kaitlyn is hand sewing hers a tube of lipstick, they all got to choose their own. Then sew the squares in a patchwork fashion which will be done on the machine and then the bag will be sewn together again via machine. This is so much fun. It is time consuming which is teaching the children the best projects take time to be done right. They were a little upset that the bag wasn't done the first session or even second.
I will take pictures today... we have pool time with another friend this morning before the thunderstorms roll in, and therapy begins. Keirsten is grooming to be a medwaiver caregiver for older people with disabilities living in their own appartments, this is her hands on time supervised...and the bonus is we all get to go swimming at their complex. Gotta run, swim suits staring at me...LOL

SUSHI took a back seat
We went for the traditional Nachos tonight so that we could skype and eat. We had the lap top on during Ayden's party so we could sing, eat cake and be there to watch him open presents. That and learn to roll sushi would have been too much.
We ordered our Disney on Ice tickets today. $10.00 a seat for September 17th night show, we are there. I plan to have a van load.
Mandie was here today, I did not sleep although I did rest. My van needs a new battery... so we are stay put for awhile. My list keeps growing.. I need to be sure it isn't more than the life of a battery.. I did jump this truck a couple weeks ago. Actually the day before we left for Disney. He said he was with the phone company I think, he talked to Mandie and he needed in my back yard. I hardly remember the whole day. They electric company needed in my back yard to cut branches to the house behind mines tree.. Some branches fell into my yard so they came over.. My yard is solid closed so to get to my back yard you have to come through the house. Then comcast came for the tree cutting event to check their lines and the phone company??? I do not know but this maroon truck wouldn't start at the end of the back yard event... so he asked me to jump his truck. I didn't want to but saying no isn't always my quality... I have two power boosters but neither work..why do I still have them?? Because I figure until a "professional " tells me they do not work I will hold on to them... like all the other items hanging around to get clarification to be thrown out. Ok, long way to say I need to deal with my van, the battery a blinker light out and oil change. Then there is the issue of two broken windows on the house... on the list... One is in the bathroom and the palmetto bugs feel the moisture from the shower and some the size of a mouse are coming in... You should see me when I find one.. What ever I can grab.. hair spray, perfume, bug spray or spray non stick.. they are going down. The air conditioner which a friends husband is coming to deal with once I get the flu bug out of here... That is totally flooding my laundry room at this point. I had no idea air handlers cycled so much moisture to make gallons and gallons of water a day. I have one sink clogged, are you following me.... My list is growing..
I am a planner, I have a list to do today, a list for tomorrow and a list in case this happens or that and a list for important things, the calendar is my guide to each day and the list fills in the gaps.... I had neglected those lists for months so today it is more than the norm... one foot in front of the other and it will be done before I know it. Today I am holding out "resting" for pay day as the trip to Disney wiped me out.. I robbed Peter to pay Paul so the kids could enjoy their time in Orlando... so we lay low and re-group next week.... costs me nothing to plan.. then I start at the top of the list and go like wildcats completing the list marking things off and feeling so good at the end of each day!

Today was an early morning for coffee with a friend..A lovely surprise. I know I looked a hot mess when she arrived due to another night of sick kids... Jordan this time crying with ear pain. Then Emma spiked a fever about 2:30am so it is today (the weekend) we have to go to the Doctor... I feel like loading up the van with them all... Lucas walked out of his room at 8am, went straight to the TV room..I was thinking he was going to watch cartoons although he didn't turn it on. He wondered about; then came face to face with me.. EYES COMPLETELY MATTED SHUT... poor baby was aimlessly traveling the floor plan..Off to the shower with warm water and he can see again. Out to the back porch for coffee I discover the dog has jumped up on the side of the pool, unhooked the filter from the side wall of the pool, the back yard is flooded and pool 1/2 empty....the grass out there is about 2 feet tall (code violation for sure) Keirsten used the mower and now it won't start...URG!!! That is going to repair shop. Why do I look like a hot mess this morning?????? Lack of sleep four days following six days packed full out of town... Where is that vacation we are talking about??? Actually, I have a few friends pulling together a MOM'S cruise. Oh I could sign on right now.
While at the single parent group in Orlando I met this single mom who explained her daily routine balancing the kids, men, house and all.... She said she has a man friend who never comes to the house...She sees him at his place (HER TIME) on a specific day and time regularly set for her and him to connect at whatever level they choose for that moment....then she went on to say she has an electrical husband, a plumber husband, an AC husband, a yard Husband... men sometimes actually "married" to her girlfriends that she has to do all the daily maintenance around the house and yard... WHERE HAVE I GONE WRONG???
I must say the other 99% of the single moms in the group were in my boat..LOL well their boat was smaller, lol
My list of things to do is growing rapidly as I can not sit and hold Ms Emma all day today although so far it hasn't been that bad (her crying) this morning, she is managing to occupy herself with play more today.

I think their bodies finally fought off the bug...all the kids are now sleeping EXCEPT Emma and Lucas who are full of smiles and energy.
The day feels like a complete washout. I think I held Emma pretty much all day to keep her from crying.... Breakfast got out of the way before she went into crabby mode, then held her to lunch, through lunch, which was quick sandwiches and soup...messy done one handed... Then held her to dinner, yes the entire afternoon, then tried to hold her but had Keirsten while I made Chicken, mashed, gravy and green beans quick and easy for their dinner... dished it out and HELD EMMA... Emma has only eaten a small amount although is drinking fine. Lucas is drinking tons and now eating... Yeah. Emma is now sitting in her play yard because I simply have no energy to chase her all over the house while I load the dishwasher, start laundry and get my morning chores I did not get to done. Lucas is being loud playing with his light up musical toys he has missed for two days... I am giving them both and hour and lights out.... Ok, smell my name being called... body is functioning.. to the changing table I go...

Fevers throughout the night..... poor baby's
If only I could put a blanket over my house for a day... Long night keeping fevers under control and Ms Emma fighting not to be in her bed, she wanted in my bed which is not safe although rationalizing about safety with a one year old is worthless. She screamed for two hours making herself so worked up. I laid and prayed that Super Nanny would magically appear as support to keep me from going to get here out of bed.. When she sleeps in my bed Jordan rolls on her and I fear something bad happening, also my bed sits so high. I have tile floors which is danger since she has no clue about not falling .. SO I buckle after a very long two hours of screaming/ not crying, she was very upset...My frustration is also that for some reason Emma feels safe to vomit when I am holding her close. After all that time I pick her up thinking I can hold her next to her bed until she is asleep and lay her back down...Oh yes!!! vomit blast all over me... not the first time this has happened and as I try to clean her up she fights to hold on to me face to face with so much fear on what is happening to her, as she empties her tummy.. yet she is laying quietly sound asleep now that all the other kids are awake..and waiting for it to be 8 am... URG. Lucas is 6 yrs old and more compliant to taking his medication and laying on his bed sick, you know when he is sick-he is down. Mandie comes tomorrow I think I will just take the day to sleep...
