I will give a little run down. Erin and Lara are staying with us right now. They have settled into the teens room with Keirsten which has built a nice bond between Keirsten and Lara. We went to see a couple of my favorite Docs in town who gave nice direction for Lara's foot for the next five days. One gave us his info in case over the weekend anything went array we are to call him. They took a couple stitches out allowing for any infection to escape the wound.
Josh is still here, staying at Michelle's looking for work. His plan is not to return to Indiana as he feels it is too far from family and he really misses Sunday family dinners... We are making the weekly family dinner priority for this year.
Kory is leaving Florida and going to Illinois to see if he can make a living and feel connected to the men in my life (brothers) for some positive guidance. He is excited about being in Illinois this summer especially as many fond memories are from the days in Henry.
Keirsten is on the phone or email.... She is typical 15 year old on spring break driving me nuts with her drama talk... This too shall pass. Keirsten has such a nurturing side which is seen with her times taking care of Emma. She does the middle of the night feeding to allow for me to have six straight hours of sleep.
Kaitlyn is growing up so fast. She is Mother Hen to Lucas.. Often is changing him, poor thing gets powder, lotion, oil and what ever else she can find... clean from head to toe and dressed a number of times a day.. Little Mama. He, I notice has learned to dodge her if he is not up for the attention. He has this run, he leans forward and goes as fast as his body will allow straight into me and grabs my legs.. He may not use words to communicate yet but I sure understand what he says. Kaitlyn has been doing a lot of reading and PlayStation games.
Steven is loving the break of no homework and lots of basketball. He is out dribbling first thing in the morning. Takes his ipod out to the swing and belts out some High School Musical Songs only a Mother could love.. The weather isn't really pool warm so he is busy doing other back yard activities. He is an outdoors boy!
Jordan is into the sand box this break. He collects action toys and piles them into a basket to take out side. Jordan has come to understand Emma is a real baby... he doesn't understand why she is limited on her ability to get up and play (walk, talk, sit) He is talking a lot, asking lots of questions. Lara and Jordan are together like siblings.. the two of them can play for hours then taddle taddle taddle...
Tressa is busy busy busy reading books, playing with her baby Lila and making sure each board game is played once a day... She is getting better about putting things away after she uses it so it is all worth the effort.
Lucas is up and around, the eye is better and he is as funny as can be. He is the one to make visitors laugh out loud. He will seek attention by doing something we have been waiting for him to initiate. Walks up to me and signs, he is thirsty. Goes to the Lego box and puts away all the Lego's but making sure everyone is aware he is doing it.. He is getting more endurance in feeding himself. Today I believe it is more about having the attention than his ability to continue to spoon an entire meal.. His play endurance holds out much longer with similar action.. He is a very smart boy with that crocked smile that assures me he is aware...
Emma is now 5 lbs 8 oz which is above the average in newborn weight gains. The Doc said at least a 1/2 oz a day and she is above that GO EMMA!
Me- well I am doing well, in any spare time I am helping a new baby find parents. A baby to be born in a month needs parents although this baby is likely a Trisomy 18 which will be a tough go at life. I believe I have located parents as well as two more baby's to be born possibly with Down syndrome. My attorney is excited to place baby's with special needs into families and not into the system. I am thrilled to help him make those connections.
