I think it is important to note that with the new medications Tressa is on for diabetes and her energy seem to be working. We are not using the stronger drug called clonidine at this point. With her blood levels staying balanced and the super vit B along with this new medication; Levocarnitine. This is helping stay alert during the day, no more ten minute naps throughout the day She is not up throughout the nights...It seems she is sleeping through the night (to 5am) She continues to fall asleep between 7:30 and 8 pm as that is all the longer she can manage staying awake.
She is a breakfast person, the breakfast food has to be cereal. If you want to make her something special she will "loose it." Once she realizes cereal is not on it's way, in her mind says she has not been provided "breakfast." No talking changes it, so cereal is the morning food. We move on with positive attitudes with that. She can have 1000 calories although we are still sticking to 600, BECAUSE, she is stealing the other 400 "plus" on a regular basis so the plan stays the same.
We have found some fish locally which is 60 calories a portion. This fish absorbs "zero calorie" spices to make it; "ribs" "chicken" "Burger" "hot dog." We found bread/hot dog buns and burger buns for 30 calories we put into single zip lock bags to use for her when she needs to have a burger or hot dog (fish base.) She is so happy and this works for her. Thank God she loves veggies, frozen veggies microwaved; her snack! The powder spice; "butter" a staple here. It is all an art or science for sure ....if it is out there, we will find it.. 15 cal. Popsicles that all the kids like!!
I need to get off here because I am taking my oldest to the airport with her family for a trip to MEXICO!!! Lucky her... no phone, no internet, no stress... lots of pictures, and I requested a blanket.
