I just heard on CNN news that President Barack Obama plans a trip to Ft. Myers on Tuesday 2/10 to host a town meeting on the issue of the economy and to hear responses to the federal stimulus package now being debated in Congress. I'm sure your local media will be saturated with details, but I think it's a good thing that Florida is considered an important place to be during these critical times and with negotiations being so timely. No matter what our individual politics are, having the President in our community so early in the administration is certainly a boost for recognition of the vital role our state plays in so many ways.
