It was a mom and Kaitlyn afternoon. She went to Ross and picked out a dress...and the outfit you see in the picture (skirt/top/leggings) Ask me (YUCK) she loved it! Said it is just like Hope's from school.... Mandie said she is going to fit right in on Monday and be a cool girl. OK, then a dress for the party...Oh please.... I BEGGED her to like this sleek red dress that looked sleek on her... she was stuck on this black and white dress that hugs the thigh and scoops at the neck to the point it had to have a tube bra under it to not expose her breasts.... The clerk said this is how it works..so why didn't the dress just attach a dickie????????? isn't that from my day?????
The clerk had no idea what a dickie was. Once the clothes were figured we went to the toy isle to have Kaitlyn do her shopping. A book for Steven, a stacker for Lucas, and some cars for Jordan...as we stumbled upon dinosaurs to make and paint she was ready to buy something for Kaitlyn...lol (herself) She informed me how much Kaitlyn loves Dinosaurs and NEEDS to buy this. She chose a Bratz doll for Tressa and Shhhh she has a ------- for Keirsten. (Keirsten reads this blog!) Everything at Ross was so reasonable.
So I bought the red dress AND the B & W dress... once we got home Mandie hoot & hollered over the beautiful sophisticated red dress and said "oh perfect for the party".... and Kaitlyn fell hook line and sinker. SCORE! Red dress for the party. B & W dress she is going to wear to school and to the kids play night. TEENAGERS..... gotta love them! I had hoped with her having Down syndrome I would be able to play the mom card through these years.....I am wrong again.
We are having a family portrait done at the party is why we are working on coordinating outfits for the party. The photographer is going to do one for free!! Yeah! We need a good picture with Lucas in it with us.
