our morning with no alarm clock..

I got to bed late, couldn't get any sound sleep. I remember looking at the alarm clock at 1:32 am and feeling I had slept enough..forcing myself to stay in bed. Then up and down, toss and turn. THEN! Tressa asks; Is it time to get up? I say no, it is the middle of the night the alarm clock hasn't gone off. Tressa's response; "But Mom the sun is up" I open my eyes and she is right....the clock is not working..It is actually 7:18am...WE HAVE MISSED 2 BUSES for four children need rides to school and about to miss 2 more. I dress the littlest four quick, wake Kaitlyn, grab her clothes and put them all into the van for delivering. When calling the schools to have the assistance move from the bus ramps to the parent drop off areas, I learn we will miss breakfast if not on campus in 2 minutes...so a drive through McDonald's...as I look in the rear view mirror I see Kaitlyn spacing out during getting dressed in the back of the van, she has nothing on from the waist up..yikes! I remind her she is getting dressed and she snaps at me..I simply then say; I can not go into McDonald's drive through unless you are dressed (she can see the sign) OH!!! and quickly she is now dressed completely and announces that. Everyone is blurting out their desires. Tressa wants the pancake plate (can you imagine) and Jordan wants nothing but french fries.. I get to the speaker to learn it is buy one /get one on egg cheese sausage biscuits. So we order those...(her entire days calories) and Jordan is not pleased they do not have french fries for their breakfast menu. Most kids would be thrilled just going to McDonald's....mine...well..... The clerk tosses a potato into the bag in Lu of French fries meltdown.... Nice------- this is all fun! 4 milks and off we go. Off to the school, it is another blunder, food dropping everywhere, no one is use to this routine and can't get it together... I round the school to get into the "proper" drop off position and Jordan won't get out..we are not in the bus ramp...he is disoriented. The little girl safety patrol calls Jordan by name and he seems to know her, She guides him out of the van and then Tressa... The kids run to hug Dr. Best (asst principle) with huge smiles. He informs me he will take them from there. Lucas' class yells to ask about Lucas/ he is going to have his heart checked this morning. We are now on a "race" against morning traffic to get Steven across town to his school back in our neighborhood. Kaitlyn has to go to the bathroom.....UGH! It is running my time down with Kaitlyn to be home to catch her bus..Keirsten stayed behind confident she could get dressed and to her bus stop by herself... I am not to just "drop off" Steven but to sign him in, (they stated so last year) but if I do Kaitlyn is sure to miss her bus and that means another hike clear across the city.... I ask if he can sign in the tardy book..he said yes and I went over the plan..Go to the office open the book and sign your name STEVEN and tell them you missed the bus!! Ok, he is excited..H jumps out and runs to the office, we take off and hurry home following all the right instructions as we are guided around another parent drop off proper path.....LOL We have been on the road for over an hour and I am sweating this last turn. Will the bus be in front of our house or already gone.... We make it, I run in and yet the main clock has now stopped at 8:05 which leads me to the computer for correct time. Kaitlyn races to the bathroom and doesn't make it completely....UGH!!!!! I am racing around to get her changed with one ear on the front of the house.. Lucas is here so we can not leave the door open with alerts the driver she WILL be on the bus.... Oh my goodness these mornings age me a generation! Kaitlyn is dressed just as her bus pulls up. She turns to me to ask where her white head phones are for her ipod.....I squint with one eye and say...Last time I used them I put them away! I then smiled and told her I will find them while she is at school...Good bye- love you! Whew!

Now, to call Dr. Richards to reschedule the 10:15 appt because we have a 10:30 appt at the specialist (heart) as well and Michelle had an 8:00 am for Ayden and couldn't fill in, as I had hoped. I think the drive to Gainesville tomorrow and an overnight in SHANDS hospital is actually going to be a mini vacation for me...LOL There is 1/2 days of school Wed/Thur/Fri and no school next Mon/Tues. so I need to get it together!!! buying a new alarm clock and batteries for the wall clock today.

COFFEE..........is priority now!
